After years of wating for Atlas to finally come out with the red/white Vermont Central Diesel engine, we finally got it this summer and brought it up to our place in VT to try it out! The engine is really nice BUT what a disappointment it was that when we powered up the transformer, all we got was the red "overload" light!!!  We put another engine on the track to amke sure that everything was working properly and verified that the track system is not the issue. We tried it in DCS and conventional control mode and got the same result both times. Is there anything else that you think we can check?? Hate to ship it off to Atlas right away! Thanks in advance for your help.

Without removing the shell, check the wheels, pick up rollers and trucks for anything obvious. Other than that, you will have to remove the shell and inspect wires. Can you give us a Atlas part # or model # ? I had an Atlas RSD that quit running every time it went through a curve. The problem was with the wire connections on the pick up rollers.

They are the best customer service people available.   Contact Bill Serratelli at Atlas and simply return it. At the least, if it is an older unit, they will quote you a repair cost. In most of my dealings with them they have gone way beyond this.
