Lionel has out for sale their new FastTrack 031 curves (6-37103) today. All the people who wanted 031 Dia. over the 036 curves (6-120515) that come in all the Lionel train sets can get them now. I wonder if that will change and how will this effect MTH 031 curve RealTrax (40-1002)?

I use mostly Real Trax and have quite a few 31curves. It always surprised me that Lionel didn't use a 31 or so on their stater sets. My problem with my 31 curves is there are so many sweet engines I want that can't go anywhere near a 31 turn.

I find it interesting that's an O-31 realtrax loop fits inside a fastrack O-36 loop, but a fastrack O-31 loop doesn't.
Wish it did... Waited a long time for fastrack O-31, then I find out it's a lot bigger than realtrax O-31.....arrrrrghhhhh!

Yes, unlike all the others, which nest nicely within each other with a nice margin for room between trains on adjacent tracks, O-31 doesn't fit. I think it not intended is aimed at RTR perhaps, but certain to be used "alone" and on small-width layouts where, for example, you can fit a layout with a loop and a switched siding into a 4 foot wide sheet of plywood, etc. whereas with 36" you can't quite.
