I just received my new American Flyer (Lionel) ES44AC and noticed that the owner’s manual has instructions for doing a lash-up in Legacy only. I’m running TMCC on my layout, not full Legacy. Does this mean I’m out of luck with regards to running this unit in a lash-up? Can I use the TMCC lash-up instructions that came with my older ES44ACs?

If memory serves me right you can do the lash-up, but only with another Legacy locomotive.

They should work. Since you are running in TMCC mode anyways it should work the same. At least that would be the way it would work on O gauge and I suspect the same for S. If you were using a Legacy system then any TMCC engine would have to be the lead engine in the MU (lashup).

The early American Flyer ES44ac's did not include instructions on TMCC lash ups.
