I just finished perusing the new Lionel catalog. WOW!! Lots of beautiful new stuff. However I was most impressed with pieces I have already purchased over the years, the 0-8-0, the heavy 4-6-2, the 2-6-6-2, the 2-8-2 and the 0-4-0 and how expensive they are now. The difference must be the Legacy. All of the above mentioned engines in my collection are equipped with TMCC and all were acquired for less than the price of the conventional engines shown in the catalogue. All except the 0-4-0 were purchased retail from dealers. The 0-4-0 was taken in trade from another modeller. The 0-4-0 as pictured in this catalogue is identical to the KLine club engine. The PRR 0-4-0 as shown last year as KLine by Lionel had better detail. Oh, and I did notice that the diesel switchers no longer sported the wagon wheel radio antenna now. All I can say about the cars is that they have some that I would really like to have. I am waiting to get a list of discounts from my LHS. Odd-d

Yes and no, the 2-6-6-2 is actually $100 LESS than its 10 year old predecessor. The 0-8-0's are $50 more, the heavy 4-6-2's $100 more, however the k-4 in the last catalog is $150 less. Prices are about the same, there are some tradeoffs. Whatever "deals" you get outside of the original MSRP secondhand, blowout or whatever has little to do with the original MSRP. Oh yea almost forgot the newly released legacy em1 is $200 LESS than the 12 year old TMCC version. FYI some of those legacy mikes released last fall are now on sale for $699, at RO,$50 less than conventional.
Had anybody noticed that two of the steam engines (the 0-4-0 and the 2-8-4) are from the K-Line dies and the same thing applies to the EMD GP35.

Hello anybody,
Having trouble getting into the Webpage to view the new Catalog. When I click on the 2012 Catalog, all I get is a Blank Screen. Is it my computer? I would like to see what is offered!

The Acela is back, I case you missed it the first time....

What are you talking abut when you state"the same thing applied to the EMD GP35's?" K-line never made a GP35. Only a Gp38. There are many detail differences between a gp35 and a GP38 from fan grills to number of fans to the fuel tank.
Well just like the last few years no N&W steam unless you count the stuff they never made.
So my wallet is safe till next month .Then it's Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to York I go.
