New Lionel Coal and lumber dump cars dead after 2 weeks of use

Hi Shawn,

Did one of each type car go dead on you?..........About the same time or spaced weeks apart or what time frame?  I was asking to see if what might have caused this to happen to two different cars.  I have these cars and have had no problem.

time frame unkown- operating track voltage and power supply/transformer ok

I have the Candy Cane Dumper - my wires broke off the Slide Shoe after a few uses.  I had to take the truck apart to resolder. 

It's funny you should say that the wires broke. I has some time to look at these tonight. I know the cars are basic. The slider shoes and the coil. But, you know how the safety stuff is these days.

I found both cars had wires that were off. Although the ire insulator was holding them

in place. Really, The wire should be changed on a production basis. It is sort of stiff and the conductor (strands and gauge) could use a boost. I thought it was bell wire at first..
