New MTH Catalog?

Some of the prices have gone up like the Heritage ES44AC/SD70ACe MSRP $459.00, $GP9's/GP30/FP40 $439.00, F units ABA $729.00, SD40-2/genset/FM 449.00.   I expected higher prices how could there not be.

Me too. It's my last hope of getting anything cool from this round of releases. 

I suggested on their Facebook -- a nice, easy way to contact an importer btw -- that they offer their '37 AAR boxcar with the Viking roof in roads that actually HAD the Viking roofs like Erie and Nickle Plate and I might buy some...I was a bit more polite when I posted it, though.

Wabash FM Roadmasters - plan on getting one in each roadnumber!  I would also buy steamers but can't buy what they aren't making.

OK, what are "FM Roadmasters"?  Didn't Buick offer the Roadmaster?

How silly is it you still have to ask?  Here it is Sunday. Folks at home, its contents out for days, catalogs released to some and MTH is still holding back showing it to their shrinking fan base?

IMO, about as stupid a decision as the no camera/phone rule at York.

Actually the word "shrinking" should have have been applied to the catalog content, not the MTH fan base.  

Which makes me think of the old what came first chicken/egg analogy..

The Rail King line has dummies for RS-3's and SD-45's.

Although yes the forum does fuel that way of thinking , their shrinking fan base is IMO of their own doing. Two years behind in production? A catalog that really doesn't take that long to upload to a web site not there? even though everyone knows it's out because of this wonderful era of technology we live in? Looks like no ones tending shop.
Coarse this is also fueled by no steam till 2013 and them touting how well they're doing in the European market . I don't like being number 2, I guess this is because Americans have always felt they're number one at least with American companys.
I don't like  riding in the back seat and they're not the only ones in town giving rides.
Just gonna take my business elsewhere.

Thanks to your bitter comments now they have replaced volume 2 with the tinplate catalog this morning. I guess you can now get your O Gauge tinplate steam engines.

Its Monday, Volume 2 first brought up the tinplate catalog, and now it brings up nothing at all, this is no way to run a railroad!  We all know MTH's website has been terrible for years but . . .

You should try being in S Gauge where THREE major (in S gauge terms) manufactures have been unable to produce, let alone catalog ANYTHING new for the past TWO YEARS thanks to the Sanda Kan fiasco...

Its Monday, Volume 2 first brought up the tinplate catalog, and now it brings up nothing at all, this is no way to run a railroad!  We all know MTH's website has been terrible for years but . . .

The Lackawanna NS heritage unit looks "off."  I realize it's just a catalog illustration and things change, but....

No Premier rolling stock for me.  Weaver seems to be getting my rolling stock dollars these days...

Hopefully next catalog sees more new tooling...

I would have liked to see them do all the Amtrak Genesis anniversary paint jobs as well as the F40, maybe next catalog.

Not much of the rolling stock does it for me these days. Most of my rolling stock these days has been going to atlas and lionel, they just seem to be doing a better job with it lately, and not much MTH has done has really gotten me going. 

That said, I'm going to pick up the sherman tank singles (I assume there will be 2 numbers per road as usual), as I've already got a dozen of them and dont think I need another 6 pack if they're going to continue to release more.

That, and the NKP heritage unit.

Observations:

Premier diesels:

SD40-2's -- wish these were fixed pilot as I would LOVE to have the W&LE unit 

GP9's - ditto on fixed pilots as I would LOVE the P&LE unit 

F7's - I think I will have to have the SF set since it does have fixed pilots!!

Rolling Stock:  I was underwhelmed.  Nothing caught my eye.  Weaver and Lionel have been getting my $$ here. 

European models:  Drop dead gorgeous.  I still say that I would need to see an affordable source of European-styled structures before I'd even think about getting hardcore into the Euro stuff. 

Track:  Scale Trax desperately needs more options.

That RK MR steel sided caboose will make a decent  companion for my Lionel S-3 mountain.

Thats about it.. Not much else of interest for me

After the first look through, I will definitely order:

• RailKing Ohio Central RS-3(Powered)
• RailKing Ohio Central RS-3(Non-powered)
• Premier Cleveland Union Terminal

Other likes:

• Imperial Wabash SD70ACe
• Premier Wabash FM TrainMaster
• Southern PS-1 Boxcars(the only rolling stock that interested me).

Strange, I am looking at it right now from the MTH site..

It works. The READ MORE tab gets you there.

On the MTH home page click on the "MTH NEWS", it will bring up the archive page.  Click on 2012 O and Tinplate Catalogs, then scroll down and click on the "in the red lettering" 2012 O Gauge Volume 2 Catalog.  It will take you to the catalog.

I followed the the instructions above, but after selecting the 2012 O Gauge Volume 2 catalogue "in the red writing", all I repeatedly get is 'Page Not Found'.  

What's up with the site?    Is it too busy today?

All I get when I click the link is the tinplate catalog.  Very frustrating.......

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I should really be spending my money on boring, but necessary things like TRACK and a used Z-4000 right now anyway!

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise? Yeah, let's go with that.

Starting on page 12 is RailKing steam.

The catalog ends on page 68 which is the introduction page for the Premier NS heritage series showing the Conrail ES44AC.

Perhaps tomorrow.

Yeah, isn't it just absolutely terrible...between the two catalogs (O and Tinplate), I found that I'll only be about $4,000 poorer.
