Still finalizing my NYC Dreyfuss project. Real close but had real world things to do the past few days....so no work.

But in my wisdom I started another project. Here is what I have so far.

It will become a freight car that has never been made in O scale before. And while mine will not be a contest winner it will be very close. Main issue is I can not find ANY prototype info on the car.....which I understand there were only a few made and they are all gone from service.......but perfect for 1980's era train.

The HOGX 50 footers were originally built by Gunderson Rail Cars in Portland, OR as auto parts cars for the Missouri Pacific, and were later rebuilt for the HOGX trains.

Wonder how the far the stench reached?

Maybe I should do one for Porky Pig?

AMCDave, Can't wait to see your updates.  Your projects are always interesting, fun, and motivate me to try more advanced techniques.

Thanks for taking the time to post them!

They were made in HO scale by AHM and Overland.

The AHM HO car is the Genesis of this project. When I was in HO I bought 5 of these. Upgraded them with metal trucks and Kadee couplers.  I wanted one in O.....but in hunting info on the cars I found the AHM cars were pure fiction......and the HOGX cars were maybe the inspiration. So I decided to make the HOGX cars.
