Absolutely. But that is what is nice about the hobby. Everyone can enjoy what they like or want to model.
Looking great!
The Shay looks great, Zak!!
Thanks Mark. Appreciate your input, throughout!

Thanks all! If interested in seeing it run. There are a couple YouTube videos on my channel. Link in my signature line, below.
Zak, It runs great!!!
Wonderful job.
Thanks Ron, Mark.
I did remove the #6 from the front number plate. I had the wrong lettering, just too big. So I think the new one is more correct.
To this point it has been about 73 hours of work and about $178 in material (paint, connectors, DCC and decals) . It was a really good, first shay, project for me. I am happy with how it came out and thanks to all of you, once again.
Really, really awesome work!

here are a few updated pics. I sprayed a satin clear coat on it yesterday and here is what it looks like now. took the gloss away a bit. have several projects for others coming up so i am going to hold off and not weather this one right now. i may leave it as is and not weather at all, not sure. any opinions?
have a great week!

looks awesome zak98 !! GREAT job !!! very, very nice !
Looks great. Great sheen with the clear coat.
Zak,
I just went through all the posts on this thread. Excellent work. You should be very happy with how it turned out. Where did you get the nice engineer figure, or did that come with the locomotive?
Tom
Excellent Zak!!!!!
Thx everyone!
Tom. The engineer figure is a woodland scenics product. Come in a package of 5 different figures on the same theme. So this one was locomotive personnel... So to speak. The fireman is an old aartista figure.
Thx!
