A newest set of subway cars to join the New York City Transit Museum's operating fleet are 5 cars that include an R11/34, R16, R38, R40 (slant nose), and an R42. Although I won't be on this trip I plan to go on a future trip the next time if they run this set again. To those who are going on this trip please share your experience of this trip with us. These cars date from 1949, 1955, 1966, 1967, and 1970.

Thanks Ben for the pictures. You are really on top of this. Thanks also goes to Bill Wall and the others for having these retired cars saved. I hope to ride then on a future trip.
To change the subject some, Metro-North will probably not be purchasing anymore mu cars instead they are discussing more dual mode diesel electric/3rd rail electric locomotives and passenger cars for push-pull service for the Hudson and Harlem Lines to replace the M-3 cars that were purchased in 1983-84.
The Trains Magazine weekly news site has two pictures of the 7 car train made up of 1 R 11/34, 1 R16, 1 R38, 2 slant nose R40s, and 2 R42s crossing the lift bridge over Jamacia Bay. I hope to ride this set of cars the next time out.
Correction to the above. I should have said crossing the swing bridge.
