New subway sets

Reserved my R-142 4-car set on Friday.

That's great!!! Where did you buy it from, I want to reserve 2 or 3 sets.

To all of you, hope you know that MTH issued the R 142s before, see their 2007 vol. 2 catalog. I got mine back then, 2 of the 5 car sets as that's the way they are set up to operate. Didn't any of you get them the first time?

I got one of those sets Ed but lost it to super storm sandy!

With the rerelease at least i can get one and not pay a grand.

I'm not happy about it being a four car set.

I'll be getting the 17 in maroon - 4 car and 2 car add-on.  Already have the 142s.  May pick up the silver and blue 17 down the road if there are any improved paint details (rubber door gaskets, window frames etc) ...but I have so many original 17s in silver and blue.  Will probably pick up the cars on flats as well...at least of the 17s.

This is the first I have ever heard of a LHS blackballing someone from buying...

Just the 142's for now, how about you, im gonna try and get the 17's too

Mth should consider making more premier sets in the next catalog, maybe an R68 or an R160 set

no he didn't, once someone pulls that crap their out for ever. I can see the guys point. who needs the grief for a few bucks. Truth be told, there's always the next guy. If you comit to someone, just do it.

I really wish MTH would do the functional doors like Lionel. Unless/until they do, I am really wanting to buy these amazing sets from MTH (was drooling over the catalogue) but reticent do so.

I agree PJB, mth did make a set with opening doors it was the premier sets, the R1 and R32 subway set, but you had to open them manually, not remote controlled 

The R-1 premier sets never had opening doors.

Oh, because somebody told me they did i guess it Was just the R32.
