I will be interested in seeing what you come up with for that second set, Walt. Looking forward to your report.
Mallard4468: thanks for the heads up. I plan on hitting that hall after picking up my pre-ordered baby Blue Comet and checking out other options with Sidetrack.

Thanks Allan. Yeah, ME TOO!!!!!
I'm 95% sure it's going to be a freight set. Whether it's headed up by a steamer or an electric will be determined when I examine what's available.
I want freight since I'll have the Blue Comet passenger set. But more importantly I believe there are more colorful, unique, etc. options for a freight set.
thanks - walt
If I were looking for new tinplate from the past few catalogs I would go to Sidetrack first, then over to Justrains. I can't think if anyone else there that has new Lionel Corporation tinplate.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I wouldn't mind finding other dealers. Not that both these dealers are not excellent.
The 254E is the Orange and Blue electric that my forum friend Ryan brought to test on my temp test layout - and it ran beautifully on my O27 track and thru my 27" and 42" L-Line switches.
it's going to be a fun time picking!!!!! I haven't looked forward to shopping at York ever as much as I am excited about this trip!
Chris was right about getting hooked on this stuff. It's going to take all of my discipline to keep it at 2 trains, but I MUST. I might think about a trolley though - they are really nice after viewing some on the tin-plate forum.
thanks - walt
