Here is caboose #2 in my Rock Island group.  I found a photo of the all white 'bankruptcy' caboose while researching  Rock Island RR and had to build it.  I had a Lionel bay window caboose....and it got the same basic treatment I detailed here....

Dupli-color and Tamiya paints were used.

I made the decals myself. It will not get any weathering as I want it to contrast with the older equipment.

The all white really stands out for a caboose and I am happy how it turned out.

NOW....an offer. If someone out there would like to try repainting a caboose into a unit like this I have a set of decals extra and will send them to any one that would like to try and do the same. Contact me via e-mail in profile.

I made the decals to fit the Lionel bay window....but should work on most O 3R cabooses.

Thanks

Nice....what I would like to see on this forum from somebody is really good directions

on how to make your own decals.  I hear things like "ALPS printer" and "my ALPS

printer died", but decades ago, I had a print shop make me some decals when I found

decal paper.  I don't remember where I got the paper.  Model train roadnames are

like automobiles:  "What they want to sell is not what I want to buy".

Maybe one of the powers that be will chime in. I'd be happy to do one....but not sure the OGR guys would like  a magazine article or web only, what detail and scope. If I can get a little guidance maybe I will go forward.
