The set was released with PS1. The Catalog is still listed on the M T H Website year 2000 Millenium Edition.  The Hudson is the Premeire release and they also let loose with a Gold GG1 with Pennsylvania Passenger Cars listed for the Rail-King Line.

I don't think I ever saw something like that. The closest I can recall is out of Baltimore Society of Model Engineers when they ran with outside third rail with a unpainted brass engine. That was a long long time ago.

I would imagine it is a white gloves only set.

It is very nice and I hope to see a video of that thing running someday.

Enjoy!

I also have the same MTH Premier Gold Hudson loco and tender that I picked up brand new off of eBay at a good price and also want to convert it into a PS-2 or 3 loco.  However, I was not able to get the passenger cars at a decent price.  So instead, I opted to pick up 2 sets of the RailKing Gold 4-car Pennsy passenger cars for about $500.  I also bought the gold Pennsy boxcar.  Not quite how I wanted to pair up the entire set.  But pricewise, I can't complain.

Here's a video I ran across on Youtube of the complete Premier NYC set.........
