- At the Eastern Division TCA pre-registration for the October York meet, they now print out your ID badge while you wait so you leave prepared for the next York meet – no waiting for the badge to arrive in the mail. Very fast and efficient.
- Atlas O showed a new water tank tower that will be available later this year. It comes with two water columns or standpipes/spouts.
- They showed a number of other nice building kits, but I’m not sure which ones are new. They are making upgrades to a number of their track products. The turntable will have (a) a more powerful, upgraded motor with direct drive, (b) robust electrical contacts to the bridge track, and (c) added rollers to support heavier locomotives. On their switches, they are providing (a) heftier bus bar upgrades underneath the switch, (b) upgraded continuous or extended their rails between the points with insulation at potential wheel contact points, and (c) upgraded angled guard rails opposite the frog.
- At the operating layouts in the White Hall a gentleman was demonstrating a T scale (NOT TT) train that is 1/450 scale – that’s less than half the size of Z. In spite of its incredibly small size it had operating headlights and tail (marker) lights, two of each visible at either end. Interesting to note that he had magnifying glass headset next to the circle of track.
- Bachmann had their new Williams by Bachmann GE 70-tonner switcher in a number of road names. They were also displaying accessories by Proses including O scale ballast spreaders for both 2-rail and 3-rail O scale track.
