Night Time Pictures of Oil Refinery

Just amazing and beautiful.

pretty impressive really.  Im looking to do the same but in a paper mill scenario.  Does the builder have an email I can contact him with?

Since I've worked in a few paper mills I will be very interested to see the modelling progress on an O Gauge mill...

I constructed a couple of small paper mills using  modular wall sections from DPM for the main building and of course, Plastruct parts to create the various types of tanks including the wastewater equipment. I would like to build one of these from pictures of an actual plant on the scale of Bills' refinery.

maybey, if you guys go to York, you can take pictures of the paper mill just south of the fairgrounds off of route 30. I was there once looking at a job to install a stell stack. It was pretty cool.

Alan thank you for all the creative skills that you used in making our WONDERFUL OIL REFINERY. It always gets lots of attention in the train room. We have a long ways yet to go on our layout but the refinery is right in your view as soon as you walk throught the door to the train room. Many thanks Alan for and OUTSTANDING JOB.

Terry thank you very much. I enjoy the night pictures a lot. It gives me a real feeling of actually being there more so than the broad day light pictures because you dont see the train room walls and ceiling. Again thank you and Alan Graziano gets all the credit for this creation he built for our layout.

Incredible. Judging by the pics ,I  could just pull up a chair and sit there and enjoy the scenery with a beer or  glass of  wine for hours.

Popsrr, Those nighttime photos are fantastic! you would swear you were looking at a real one. The daytime shots are great also.I assume these are all scratchbuilt?

Ingear Joe thank you for your nice comment. Have not seen you posting  a lot lately. Hope all is well with you. I did like the one you were showing about adding some lighting to the layout.

 Thanks Bill, I decided a while back that I needed to focus on the order of things. To get more room for O gauge, the G gauge has to be moved outside. So I figure to do that gauge up and put O on hold. Tough when stuff keeps popping up.

 Once the dust settles, I can go back and pickup on the O gauge again.

Plus, I'm out of ammo ....

 Bill, after I saw the pic you posted, I figured it would look closer if I got the MTH version. The trouble was they only made a few. I'm waiting for the new catalog at the end of this month to see what's offered. I bet the Canadian roads sell out fast.

 This one on the bench, is still the one I showed last month on the CN post.

I hate to take you away from this post. This refinery is amazing. Again, I'm jealous.

Paul thank you for your very bice words. Yes all the structures were built from scratch. There are 6 main modules 5 of the floating storage tanks 3 loading stations and 3 unloading stations. There is a refinery office building and a 4 foot tall structure that hides a basenebt support pole. The layout of the refinery looks like the drawing below.
