There youz guyz go again… had to order the 2 Ebinger’s cars - brings back a lot of memories. Can still see all the ladies in their white outfits stocking the shelves and tying up the green boxes with twine!!!

P.S. I don’t know what the deal is with the Blackout Cake (I think it’s a cult thing ). Now if someone could make their crumb cake and the iced kringles again - YUM!!!

The Blackout cake is Brooklyn legend   It was named blackout cake during WWII when all the lights in Brooklyn were blacked out to protect the Brooklyn Navy Yard  even though the cake was invented in 1912    There are a million imitations but none of them tastes like Ebingers   Do a google search on Brooklyn blackout cake and you will see how many imitations are out there   The recipe is still a well guarded secret   The blackout cake was one of hundreds of recipes Ebinger sold in its stores  There is a company out there now that you can order an imitation blackout cake from and they even ship it in the green Ebinger box
