They hunt the Passaic River that flows through the area. 

(BTW, a couple of miles from the NJ HiRailers, is the Passaic River's "Great Falls" in Paterson…… an 80 ft waterfall system that was harnessed to power the industries there at the time, such as Rogers Locomotive Works)

The pics are in Paterson NJ   The two steam locomotives are outside the Paterson museum.  The Museum is the former site of the Rogers Locomotive works.  Rogers was bought out by ALCO.  The Steam engine I am standing in was the last one produced there   It was a Panama Canal zone loco.  The falls are directly across the street.  Interesting history in that area.  It was Alexander Hamilton that incorporated that area into an industrial zone using the river and falls to turn the wheels of all the mills.  Our building was originally a silk mill

 

As for Staten Island it isnt called the borough of parks for nothing  LOL
