Good morning again....Is there a way of getting four or more PS2 three volt SD40's to work together other than lash-up, I wouldn't mind even using MU cables or a dedicated remote.

Use the ALL ENGINES feature of DCS. No cables or dedicated remote required. Refer to The DCS Companion 3rd Edition, Part V - Advanced Features and Functions, 3. ALL Engines Operation, on pages 101-103.

I run more than one train at a time on my big loop of track, when I make super MU ten or more locomotives I use the all button. I love the ALL button I did as many as 16 at one time.

So, why do you need another method of controlling multiple engines? Just use multiple remotes, each with a different set of All Engines in the Active Engine List.
I thought using the ALL button effects all active engines. Even those being used by someone else using a different remote.

Not so! 
All Engines controls all of the engine's in a particular remote's Active Engine List. Remotes cannot communicate with other remotes at all, only with TIUs.
Further, a TIU cannot initiate a conversation with a remote, rather , it can only respond to queries from remotes.
