This is probably a dumb question, but I am new to the hobby. I was looking at buying a Legacy non-powered engine, to pull behind a Lionchief Plus SD60M. I do not run anything else legacy, so without the legacy remote, I should not have any problems with a non-powered engine? From what I know, a non-powered engine is nothing more than a very neat detailed car..

While you shouldn't have any issues, many non-powered Legacy dummies come with lighting, smoke units, and remote couplers. If you won't take advantage of these possible added parts, you could gut and sell them. Not all dummies have the additional electronics listed above either, just depends on the product.
Gettle08 posted:@MartyE Thank you. I did notice that some of them did come with all of those electronics. The one that I am looking at currently, does not have any of that. I am assuming it just lights up, and looks good.
It may not even light up.
Some dummies are REALLY dumb.
The latest dummy engines don't have pickup rollers on them for power. And that makes it difficult to put any lighting in them, etc. The cost of fitting the rollers is too high. It's more cost effective to buy an older engine or dummy...and remove the motors if desired.
