Has anyone here recently ordered from North Lima Train Works? I Ordered a shell from them 2 weeks ago and it still shows the order as processing. I tried calling only to recieve a voice message saying to check orders on there website and there voice message don't take messages so they don't return calls. I sent them a e mail yesterday and if I don't hear anything by Tuesday I'll write them a snail mail and then allow a couple weeks since this was Esater week and they may be on holiday. At least I paid via paypal so I'll have buyer protection. I just wonder if they're still in business.

Never had any luck with them; gave up. Lionel should not point us that way.
Good thing I paid with paypal. If I would have paid with a credit card it goes on your credit report that you disputed a charge and lowers your credit score. But I think it will be ok like I said maybe there on holiday.
Good luck. Any business that fails to provided Voice Mail for their customers has some basic business issues.
That alone should cause any manufacture to back away from them.
About once a year something on the forum shows up on them. I called them about a year ago and called me back about 2 weeks later. They are the WORST company to deal with!! I have no idea why Lionel made a deal with these people. I wish Lionel found some like Brassuer, who took the kline parts and they do a nice job..North Lima is the pits.
Give them another week. Its a very bizzarre outfit but you will likely eventually receive your parts. I assume it was listed in stock when you placed you order. If, in fact, they were sold out you will get a refund. If nothing happens in a week then contact Pay Pal.

They have there voice mail set up not to accept any messages.

Certainly seems like an unusual way to generate orders.
I have got two orders from them so far this year. I just sent in one. It takes about 2 to 3 weeks to get them.

As I recall there was no "deal." It was simply when Lionel left Canfield, OH to move down here NC they sold all their old parts to North Lima Trains. North Lima Trains is located in a hardware store in the town of North Lima in the township of Beaver just a few miles from Canfield all in Mahoning county.
They stink . I emailed them weeks ago and no reply .. They dont take calls . I was looking for a shell for my lackawana f3 set i am tring to repair .. I got lucky someone here was just selling the dummy unit i was looking for..

If it was up to Lionel Service they would have kept all the parts. Upper management made the decision even before the move that they would not inventory parts for items made before some period of time, 5 years, 10 years previous, I don't know what the cutoff date was.

Please let us know how you make out. I was thinking about placing an order with them.
Whenever I see "Available from North Lima Train Works" in the Lionel parts listing, I assume that's the same as "Unavailable". I tried to order a part from them several years ago. Never got a response, and never got the part. Never tried again either!
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!
Don't waist your time. Best to post on the forum here in the WTB column.
I have had good luck with NLTW. Everything I have ordered came in about 2 weeks...kind of like MTH which seemed to take a month...but the stuff came eventually.
Many times your choices are order from North Lima or make your own or contact a third party. Examples are Niagara Gears and driveshafts, L3 Mohawk smoke deflectors. You have little to loose by ordering from them. They will refund your money if an item is out of stock. It just takes forever and you are in limbo until they come through one way or the other.

I ordered from them years ago when I was looking for BN coal porters, they had ( I still think they have) complete bodies without trucks.... I picked up a bunch of MTH roller bearing trucks off of a 2-rail buddy of mine and built up the cars cheaper than I could find used cars....

CW, I finally got a refund check this past monday after waiting over a month. The shell I ordered was out of stock and I was told the memo was sent to the accounting dept but they didn't send it. I paid thru pay pal I don't understand why they didn't just do a paypal refund and it don't explain why the ignored e mails. At least I got my refund.
Cause they suck . It doesn't take a min to reply
