I was watching the news and they had reported that a intermodel train struck a truck carrying lighter fluid in Kentucky. On the video it has the accident but it appears that the NS heritage unit 8114 was the second engine involved. Just wondering if anyone else seen it.

Jeese! The guy was facing the direction the train was coming from when he approached the crossing. You would think he would have seen it?
I would tend to think someone hauling lighter fluid would be a bit more cautious at crossings in the first place.

I agree. I would have thought the driver would have seen the train unless there was a curve.
I drive school bus and know that both hazardous material carriers and buses must stop at a railroad crossing and check for a train before proceeding. Part of the commercial driver program, also must turn off all radio or other noise producing devices.
So how did that accident happen?

Good question. The initial report stated no injuries to the crew but the truck driver had minor ones.

It does not happen. This driver showed NO< smith system driving skills.
Stop. Look beyond, your exact location, get the big picture, being that close
to needing to make a turn, and then cross over, THE Dang window , needs to
be down, cut off the radio, and LISTEN, ( oh yea), off the phone also. Gosh look
at it he is finishing turn at 0:20- 0:21, making approach 0:24- 026, and cross over
at 00:28 - 00:29, NEVER STOPPED!!
