Where can I get roller wheels for a test bench track that will let my engine run in place (static run)?
Or can I make them and from what parts?
I'm not looking to spend hundreds on something like this.
Thanks, in advance, for any useful tips...

I have been thinking of making something like what is pictured here hopefully soon.I think if u get alum. angle and put 2 pieces together then add the bearings. It should work for three rail if you mount a piece of rail between bearings. You can get the bearings from those new toys they have out now I believe they call them spinners or possibly from somewhere like Grainger or McMaster Carr. Will take alot of precision drilling but can be done.
Build a cheap, quick, and easy roller stand for your rollers.....
Very nice!
Perhaps I missed it...I'll check the replay, too...but is it correct to assume the 'tender' portion of the raised board is 3/4" thick?....bringing the tender wheels and engine drivers sitting on the M/M rollers to the same level??
Thanks for clarifying!
Already have the M/M rollers.....your idea adds a touch of elegance to the mayhem () arrangement I've been using!

Yes it is 3/4"..... it's not 100% dead level, but so close you can't see it and it doesn't effect anything function wise
and you only need 4 rollers....even for a Big Boy
You guys are awesome, thank you!
The MM look like a copy of the English rollers or vice versa note that one of the roller sets in my photo can be replaced with felt pads for cleaning wheels not shown is the pads are spring loaded never had a chance to set them up maybe one day.
If you were going to make a set yourself you would really need a milling machine to drill the holes accurate but at 60 bucks why do it.
LAIDOFFSICK great video.

There is a thread you can search on the forum here for so more ideas - before we could print topics - I made the attached pdf of the project
Edit: the Crest rollers are no longer avail - MicroMark as previously mentioned
I use the JAK Tool rollers, they have two center roller pickup blocks for each set. I have two sets of the JAK rollers, and I also have a set of the ones that Micromark sells. I bought that set from another outfit for $30, can't remember the company name.
I like Doug's board, that looks like something I should make for my bench.
After seeing Doug's set up I built one myself using Micromark rollers. Only difference for me was using 3/4" plywood because that's what I had at the time. Those 6/32 nuts are a must if you want the rollers sets to sit nice and snug and lined up on the rails.
Thanks Doug
