Hey guys, it is still a little early to tell, but there is a new O gauge train company out there called O-Line Reproductions.  It seems to me that they are totally using former K-Line tooling, and are turning out some of K-Line's BEST decorated freight cars, and people.  I have not yet done an in-depth search to find out more about the company.  Their packaging is just like K-Line's yellow black and white.  Instead of costing $80 for a boxcar, it seems their street price is in the $50 range or less.

You seem to get the same level of detail - added ladders, brake wheels, under car details,  superb painting and pad printed graphics, and an end result of a very fine looking piece of rolling stock.

These pictures are not my property but borrowed from an internet site.  If you want to know what store, please send a PM.s-l16001s-l16002s-l16003s-l16004and other parts etc., and superb paint and printing all over the cars, especially on the boxcar ends!  It looks like (from a distance) they will be serious competition for the big three, especially if they start making engines

I would take bets that Maury Kline is back in the train business in a small way!

Guys, from all current information, the O-Line Reproductions are just repackaged RMT items, distributed by Heartland Hobby Wholesale, which has been talked about here and other forums already. If you look at the Heartland home page, where product lines carried are listed, there is no mention of O-Line Reproductions. But who knows, any thing is possible.

From all accounts, this is not new production, but previous overstock. They are identical to the similar RMT items. If you look closely at that silver PRR merchandise car, it says "RMT 1-11" on the bottom left side of the box car door.

If this was a NEW company, and these were NEW items, why would they say RMT on them? And certain cars, like the A&P Reefer were gone almost immediately... meaning, there were not very many available, indicating these are not new production. The only thing that strikes me odd, is that someone went to some trouble to print new boxes for these products. Usually on a blowout, they try to keep costs down, and they'd put stickers over prior packaging... maybe some legal issue.

These are also made from the traditional styled-sized K-Line items, save for the Pennsy style porthole caboose. And I'd think it would be safe to say the tooling for these items is still in the possession of Kader (Sanda Kan). When Kader took over Sanda Kan and dropped some 60 train companies from their production, Aristo Craft was one of the few NOT dropped - and at that time RMT was affiliated with Aristo Craft. When RMT said the tooling has been "re-positioned" that sounds to me like still under the ownership of Kader.

What is curious, is now on the RMT website, these same items are listed there with order reference numbers like "olr-127" as all the other dealers who have had these items.

I bought the O-Line PRR N5c cabin because it had a different paint scheme than my other cabins.  Here are some pictures of it compared to the K-Line version (on left with black roof).

Looks like the same mold.  The only difference is on the bottom where O-Line added a TMCC/Command switch.  Even the window inserts are the same.

O-Line did add some figures that my K-Line did not have.
