Depending on size, there are sellers of bulk lots of dimensional lumber for building models from Midwest on eBay; some have very good prices and some are ridiculous gougers; shop around.
If you want O scale dimensional lumber, I have gotten 90+% of mine from Kappler; others like Mt. Albert as a source.
I fabricated a turntable deck with Kapplar Mill and Lumber Company Basswood.
Railroad ties that matched Atlas track ties.
2" X 12" dimensional lumber used as decking. Basswood a very good model material, with limited defects.
Micro-Mark has a good selection of dimensional lumber as well as sheets.

Yes, but they're just reselling from one of the sources like Northeastern, Mt. Albert, Kappler, or Midwest. shopping around a bit will get you what you need generally at better overall pricing.
