O Scale Figure comparison

Lucas, that's funny!  It is also so true.   That is one of my gripes with Beep People:

I'm going to do better going forward.  The styrene plastic figures are easy to modify.  Guillotine off their heads with a #11 blade, apply solvent cement or MEK, and glue them back on looking a little to the left or right.   I will relegate the Beep People to the aisle seats.

To your point about other manufacturers, I will make a list including those and other small manufacturers at the end of my original post.  I won't review them since I don't have any of those figures.

Thanks, Jim.  That figure is nicely done.  I know I have harped on "Don't paint the eyes and lips," but clearly it adds to the figure if done right.  If I need that level of detail in a foreground figure, I will view some tutorials from the Military/Gaming modelers.  They are the real experts.

Speaking of which, 28mm or 30mm Gaming figures are plentiful and scale well to our 1/48 world.  Search for 28mm Gaming figures, 30mm gaming citizens, etc.

Vito was included in one of Greenlight Collectibles’ 1:43 cars with Godfather licensing. Not sold separately and, as with all of the select Greenlight diecast car releases that included figures, it was a limited run, so it’s something you have to find on the secondary market. It took me more than a year with a saved search on eBay to finally find the version with the figure.

Of course, 38mm figures (1.5 inches) are the best proportion for 1:48. But not a whole lot of 38mm figures out there.

Seriously tho- wondering if a BEEP head could be "turned" by applying some heat to the figure......stay tuned.....

Keep waiting.....basically a fail.

The head can be twisted after I applied heat with a heat gun but the plastic memory would spring it back. Too much heat and the head became disfigured.

Bob, it was worth a try! 😃

Inspired by the torture of O scale figures committed by RSJB18, I did a cold 180+ degree twist on the heads of these 3 unsuspecting Beep People and managed a reasonable head turn.

It required 2-3 twists for the position to hold and it does tear the rubber, so it is best to do this before painting.  Now if only I could fix the carbonite frozen arms . . .

Has anyone ever found a 1/43 or 1/48 marching band?

Hi; I found a 5 piece marching band at Menards with their Christmas displays.  The figures measure 2" tall.  They carry a variety of figures, I think  these might have been Lemax because the Rosslight and FG Square figures are more G scale size about 2.5 ".   I display the marching band in my O gauge layout and they fit in reasonably well.  A bit tall but close to the size of my K-Line circus performers.

Thanks I saw them but that makes them 8’ tall.

You need a better search strategy. In addition to the above, Corgi included these 1:43 figures with the Bluesmobile more than 20 years ago.
