O72 switch questions | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I am planning to add a spur to the outside loop of my layout. To get access to the spur I would like to use an o72 switch. All my track is tubular so I will use a tubular switch as opposed to a fast track switch. I have two questions about o72 switches.
First - what is the length of the straight section of the Lionel o72 switch?
Second - can the Lionel o72 switch be operated manually?

Yes.

If this is for manual only operation, the Lionel 721 is an option for you.

LOL, I never knew that manual switch existed. I haven't seen Lionel remote tubular O72 switches cataloged in years. Does Lionel still make or market them?

Ross sells them. Maybe they'll sell you a manual one.

The Lionel electric O72 switch can be thrown manually by rotating the switch lantern cap.
