Dennisons is the local attraction. They never redid the OC train layout.

Berlin is 25 minutes from Milsboro, and I have never seen the shop so can't comment.

 

I think Laurel DE has a shop, but mainly R/C items. Walt Dennisons is your best bet, however, it is now known as Walt's Train Shop since moving from the old location. Right in midtown off of side street.

 

Phone is 410-641-2438. Hrs are TH-FRI 11 TO 6 and SAT 10 TO 5. (Might be 11 Sat but I think it is 10....might want to call. But I am sure on Sat you will be on the beach or traveling!)

 

Not sure what you expect to find/looking for, but it is a nice visit even if you just get to see Berlin. Home of the movies "Runaway Bride" and "Tuck Everlasting." Your mom might have fun poking into the shops and antique stores in town.

 

If you are looking for older PW items, I can get you in touch with a local older guy who has quite the collection and is selling off, plus a store,right on Main St, called Toy Town has quite a bit of train stuff, perhaps a little overpriced but there.

 

Keep in mind, Berlin is mainly a main street and a zip code! Not even traffic lights or parking meters! My kind of town.

Not really train shops but Roses & Sunsations are worth a quick look.

 

In the nautical section at Roses they always have neat hand made lobster boats and fishing trawlers that fit nicely with o gauge if your thinking of a harbor scene.  I've bought about a dozen of them along with a nice lighthouse.

 

I like to browse the toy section at Sunsations for close to scale diecast planes, cars and trucks.  I can always find something there.

 

Almost forgot.  If you coming down Rt 50 stop by the Lennox outlet in Queenstown.  They superdiscount the Dept 56 stuff.  I bought a $125.00 cathedral for $35.00.  It's definitely worth a stop.

Also on Rt 50 is Star Hobbies in a strip mall just past Annapolis.  NOS at real good prices.

I think there is a Seaside Hobbiesin Ocean View DE.

Well, if it is around the 24th and 25th they are going to have a bikini contest with 450 contestants, you did say you were leaving the girlfriend at home did you not.

Been to Seaside Hobbies several times. It is a nice train shop located in Ocean View Delaware. I know that the shop has a new owner if you are in the area you should stop in.

Dennison's in Berlin, MD,  a few miles outside of OC and just off of Route 50, is the place to go.  Tuck Everlasting and Runaway Bride were filemed in Berlin.  Berlin is a great little town to visit.  Visiting the town is like walking back in time to to 1950s.  The town has a couple of neat places to eat, nice antique shops and the train shop is just past the main drag but, all in walking distance.  You can easily spend a good half day there and not be disappointed.  The shop is a complete hobby shop with all scales of trains and many different hobbies represented.  Enjoy, Buck

Don't miss the hardware store.  A place out of time where you can still buy stove plates and an a sealing ring for your number 7 Presto pressure cooker.

I'll be heading down to OC next week for vacation. The only train related things I'm going to do is to take a couple OGR's, CTT' and a Lionel Christmas catalog to read on the beach.

For fun at the beach nothing beats burying Snapple bottle caps all over the beach and watching the metal detector guys find them. Scattering a box of BB's is pretty entertaining too!

If you have a car Just Trains is worth the 2+hr drive..

My nearest hobby shop is 45 minutes away so 2hrs doesn't seem that long!

My Aunt use to own a store in Berlin and I would stop in at Dennisons whenever we went down to visit. But I thought the hobby store closed. Did it re-open? Also, if you head over to Berlin you need to stop at the Globe and get the Global Crab Cakes.
