I may have been an earlier thread but just to make sure, don't miss the traditional OGR Forum member dinner on October 21st at Quaker Steak. As usual, this get together starts right after the halls close on Thursday. After the long vacation everyone has had from York, I know this get together will be special where we can see old friends and make new ones!

You bet Alan, I'll be there unless I'm asleep. I'll also be sure to bring my Canon camera to take pictures, so someone will just have to tell me where we're all hiding if I miss anybody.

I intend on making the OGR shindig as I can walk there from the LaQuinta Inn. I can’t go out and hoot/hollering with the operation I had 3 weeks ago but York is on the roadmap for me!
see everyone at York and at QSL!
It's going to be rough missing the dinner this year! I'll have to live vicariously through pics! Have fun everyone!

Thank you Alan. I am looking forward to it and will be there.

Glad this tradition will continue & to be able to catch up with everyone.
Woohooi party!!!
As long as they have Guinness & steak, I'll be happy. Make sure I take pictures beforehand.
Can't wait to see everybody again.
Looking forward to it!

Me too. See you all there!
I am going to try to make this. I hope you guys don’t mind a 2 rail guy showing up. I do have some 3 rail trains including my PW.
To my friends,
I am looking forward to seeing my friends again after too much time has gone by. I will also be at Quaker Steak and Lube and buying my friends a beer. You know who you are.

2-rails? How do they run without power from the center rail?

You're just being nice because I'm holding your engines hostage.
My dad and I are at the LA Quinta down the street too. We'll try to come eat with y'all.
Dave Minarik and I, along with some of our train buddies from NE Ohio and Western PA, will be there. At least that's the current plan.
Count me in

I am booked at La Quinta and didn't realize how close it is to the restaurant, that rocks, they can't bust me for not walking in a straight line if I am walking (actually, I have trouble walking a straight line when I am sober, people have claimed I walk straighter with several under me.
Looking forward to this, for sure.

That is why I stay there and before they opened I stayed at the Best Western! I'm one of the 5 or 6 guys that doesn't walk out until midnight. Driving is never an option at that point.
Really going to miss not be able to attend the dinner this year. But a day at York is better than no York at all.

Here are the pictures I took at the OGR Quaker Steak dinner. I missed some folks as they either arrived while I was eating, or left before I got around to shooting the camera.
Its a good thing Don Klose asked for a second shot. I didn't realize the first one was out of focus. Good call Don.

two 22 ounce Guinness's and I felt pretty good. That may be why I took that blurry picture of Don.
@Dave NYC Hudson PRR K4 Dave, thank you for posting these pictures. I had a really good time meeting two forum members I didn't know. Great guys. I am glad I finally got to go to this event after many years. I can only imagine what it was like when you guys overloaded that other restaurant where it used to be. (I forget the name)

Well, I have only been at Quaker Steak. From what I have been told, the usual place used to be Friday's. There was also a Friday get together, which used to be at Ruby Tuesday's. So the joke was, Thursday at Friday's, Friday at Tuesday's. Both of those places went under and got replaced. I attended in 2017, but didn't make the Quaker Steak OGR Event. In 2018 and 2019(October's) I got out to both. Both of those events the place was packed to the gills on both sides of the building. The NJ HiRailers had the table in the back those times and they were typically the last to leave(so I was told). This time around the place was of course quite mild, but we still had a crowd there of us train folks(there were some women present, so I don't want to say just guys). Either way, all have been a great time had by all.
Sorry I missed it. Looked like the usual fun!
Looks like a great turnout! I wish I had been able to go to York this time! Thank you for the photographs, Dave
