new work shop with outdoor work bench....
my helper, IZZY, thinking on the next project.......
now to get started on the new layout.....
Portable workbench for 30 years. Last of several trucks/tools. Note that the 8ft. bed standard for so many years is now an order only, apparently the 6ft bed is more to the liking of the young today.
My workbench (actually workshop) is in the process of being built and organized.
I've got one wall of pegboard installed. The other is on the way (soon).

Wait- your supposed to clean off your bench periodically.... WOW learn something new every day
Then there's the garage and the shed. No photos to post right now but I guarantee that they are in the same shape.

Nice weathering job!
Ok, here's a couple of pictures that could possibly make some of you feel a little better!
The first is my main workbench, second is kind if a catch-all, extra space, aux bench etc., but I know it looks the other way around. I was about half done cleaning off the main bench and my back acted up again for a few weeks. During that time of sitting around someone ordered a bunch of electronics type devices and various other items from ebay. Then the grandson came over a couple of times, the ebay stuff came in and we are right back to the 'hidden bench' again, only a bit worse than it was before.
The little fold up table (lower right) was for the grand kids to work on, but now is mostly for 'overflow' as they don't 'work' on things like they used to when they were younger.
Then a friend of mine that visits every now and then was over a couple of weeks ago and he said "You still don't have your bench cleaned off". I told him I hadn't gotten around to it. A few days later this showed up in the mail. No return address and addressed in a handwriting I did not recognize (he had his wife address it to fool me). However, I knew exactly who it was anyway, he's done things like this to me for years. Actually this is one of MANY that his wife had given him previously.
Now, my back is better and I guess I am out of excuses...
Usually I do try to keep it a little more organized, not as perfect as some here are, but a bit better than what is is now! I try to at least keep that 6" x 12" work area open...
a couple work areas in the house...
and i still end up at the kitchen table.....closer to the fridge...
Here's my garage work area complete with a small but efficient work bench made from leftover Mianne Benchwork parts:
Im gonna comment to remind myself to post pics of my bench after work.

Like I said, the garage is in sad shape too. Usually there are two cars in here but it's been my second work shop due to the CEO's project.
I have 2x of 5'x30" office desks. One for repairs, the other desk is for the office, files, orders and records. The wall has multiple powered shelves- test tracks for N, HO, and O. At the time i didnt know if i needed test tracks as i plan to have a layout, I almost put up a peg board to hang tools. I was always told to "never trust a guy with a clean workbench"

I had a lot of that when I was younger. Couldn't wait to get a project completed back then.
Then I finally got to retire. After a few years of that, it's more like never do today what you can put off until tomorrow!! The stuff never goes away, it always waits for you.
