I have a old TIU without rev code on the back. when powering up the red led flashes 10 times and the remote shows 3.1. I tried to flash the 6.1 with no luck to the TIU . Will the remote take the 6.1 if it has 3.1 in it now.

it is probably a rev G which are not always marked on the bottom of tiu probably has defective memory ic and can't be repaired!

Rev G TIUs have no revision listed on the bottom. Not 100% certain, but I think 10 flashes of the red LED means the TIU is toast. GGG or GRJ can confirm. It 's worth it to buy a new Rev L TUI. They are MUCH better than the original Rev Gs.
BTW, Keep your remote! It WILL work with the new TIU! You will need to up grade the firmware in the remote to the latest version.

This TIU was giving to me by a friend to see if it worked or not and it looks like not. I have the rev L on my layout. I have a spare H1 that I will give to him.
