Hi Marty! That's a Roger Farkash/TW Trainworx Pennsylvania Station.
The Old Penn Station was on 7th Ave and 33rd St across from the 7th Ave entrance to Macys which is the corner of 7th Ave and 34th St.
I took the liberty of including a "7th Ave El," which never actually existed but looks like it could have.

WOW.
Beautiful. Too bad the real thing is long gone.

Awesome Skip.
That looks awesome!!
Very nice work. The bus looks like it's from the fifties early sixties
Excellent!
Breathtaking. And talk about making a person sit up and take notice - I literally jumped and sat up straighter so I could be sure of what I was seeing on the computer screen in front of me. And I'm still sitting straight up to see it more closely. WoW!

Hi Skip, Wow! and Fantastic! about sums it up. Penn Station's destruction led to the start of preservation movements, so train stations in many cities still exist, including Union Station in Tacoma.
All New Yorkers have to love it! Is the model made from a kit?
MELGAR
That model brings back so many memories. Thanks Skip
Razing Penn Station......ugh.....a tragedy!

No, not a kit. It comes nearly fully assembled. We just had to screw in a couple of columns.
That is nice!!!!!

Penn Station had fallen into bad shape as the Pennsy, taxed heavily to pay for the Interstate Highways, couldn't afford to maintain it properly. As a result, we lost two great buildings: Penn Station and the old Madison Square Garden on 8th Avenue (where I saw my first Ranger games). Today's Madison Square Garden sits on top of today's totally subterranean and depressing Penn Station. As you stated, the loss of these buildings certainly had much to do with the formulation of the Landmarks Preservation Commission and the preservation of Grand Central Terminal.
That is a work of art! Thanks for posting this pic with your wonderful layout as a setting. I'm a great admirer of the old Penn Station (and your layout photos). Concourse and interior details next?
Beautiful Skip!

Walter, the bus is a fifth ave coach lines bus they ran in the city from 56 through the mid 70s. Beautiful works of art in their own rite. They were some of the first air conditioned ones to run in the country

aka MABSTOA, my Dad worked for them, was a driver in the 60's and 70's and finished up in the West Farms Garage rebuilding generators.

Skip, Great picture and fantastic modeling. It's sad to think that such a beautiful landmark is gone.

Especially since what replaced it is ugly and soon going away.
Went through there many times on weekends when in the service.
