Alex and Dina,

I am now coming solo since my wife is babysitting my grand daughter in Bloomsbury, NJ so my daughter-in law can take my son out for his birthday!

So, I will be coming solo!

Please reduce the headcount accordingly!

Also, I was wondering if I bring my RR-Track Files or Laptop, if I can get some assistance in finalizing my layout so I can start working on the benchwork?

Thanks in advance,

Dennis (minus Joanne)

Alex, this is a really nice thing you are doing!  I am going to try to come up from Baltimore, and will take Amtrak to the closest station. On the map, that looks like Metropark, NJ? any ideas for public transit from their to your place greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

B&O Bill,

From my research, it does look like Metropark, NJ is the nearest station.  I'm not sure about public transportation.  Looks like taxi or Zip car?   My Son and I are coming down from New England.  So, if we don't drive it's Amtrak to Metropark then taxi at $26 to $30 each way.  Or Amtrak to NYP, then the MTA subway line #1 to the Staten Island ferry and then the SIRT to Pleasant Plains.  Which could be a 2 hour journey.   So, driving and then a stop at Coney Island to ride the Cyclone on Sat. night is probably what I'll do.

Mike.

Hi Bill I did some research and Metro Park is very close to my house,15 minutes away or less. But the only transportation I see seems to be a taxi or car service. I keep searching to see what else I can find

Thanks, Alex

Absolutely do not do this!!  You have to time trains and ferries perfect to make it to where Alex lives in 2 hours on a good day.  Amtrak stops at Metropark and its a short cab ride from there to Alex.

I want to thank Rich, Allan and the entire OGR staff for letting me put this sticky post up, and I think it's been up long enough for everyone to see. We have an awesome turn out and it's going to be a great day with great forum friends and awesome food.

And let's not forget the drinks LOL LOL. I'm looking forward to this day which will be all about trains and good times.

Thanks again to all

Hi Allan,

Once again I thank you and the OGR staff for helping me out. Yes I agree we will need cops to control the crowd. LOL

Thanks, Alex
