I have the Lionel 6-52441 Operating Hopper and it is definitely narrower and lower than a scale 2-bay hopper. Here it is compared to an Atlas 2-bay hopper. Due to its narrow width, it really stands out in a train.
I want an operating hopper to dump its coal into my coal tower bin (dumps through the track to a tray under the layout). This way I am not hauling in coal and then hauling it out.
Are there other operating hoppers, with the center plunger, out there that are closer to scale? Thanks.
