Options for positioning the MTH WIFI unit?
Has anyone determined the optimum mounting posiiton of the WIFI unit and standup antenna?
Two options available: WIFI Mode and Home Mode.
Also has anyone experienced any difficulty when used with a Home network?
I use Netgear equipment for internet connections.
Note: The plan at present is to use a WIFI only tablet for direct use with the MTH WIFI unit. The wireless router will be used exclusively for web connections to my laptop computers.

I use mine on my home network without any issues whatsoever, along with my Lionel LCS.
As regards positioning, I just opened up one of my control panels that is just above the TIU to which the WIU is connected, and dropped the WIU on a bed of wires and closed the control panel.
I can back off 30 feet around and go around a corner, and get perfect reception. From this experience, positioning of the WIU isn't in the least important in my train room.
Your mileage may vary.
