Totally STUMPED on this.  I'm using the 6-14185 OTC.

If I follow the wiring shown below on my older Tubular Operating Track sections, WITHOUT cutting the magnetic coil wire, the Legacy CAB2 accessory control works FLAWLESSLY. That is to say that if I press Aux 1, that triggers the electromagnet (decoupling), and if I press AUX 2, that ONLY triggers the Accessory rails:

BUT if I use the same wiring on a FasTrack Operating Track, pressing Aux 1 AND/OR Aux 2 BOTH trigger the Operating Rails.

And, I DID cut the magnet coil wire and attach a wire to it, which goes to #2 of the OTC.  I thought that was supposed to eliminate this problem????   Is this NORMAL?

The Uncoupling works fine by pressing AUX 1. Is this NORMAL? Every

Now, if I use the wiring shown below for the FasTrack Operating Track, it's even worse. When I hit Aux 2 to try and trigger the Operating Rails, all I get is BUZZING from whatever coil is in the operating car ( like my old Reefer Car, or 3469 Automatic Dump Car. I even tried to raise the external power supply above 14 volts to no avail. Here is the wiring I followed:

I might mention that in both cases, neither of these track sections are connected to my layout, but stand alone. I am supplying 14 volts for the OTC's power, from a small Lionel 7H20 transformer, and another SEPARATE 7H20 transformer powering the operating track section.  I purposely purchased some new FasTrack Operating Tracks to replace my older worn out tubular operating tracks, but if I can't perform unloading or other actions without uncoupling the car, I might have to stay with the older tubular sections that work just fine with Legacy CAB2 control???

What am I missing? And which one of the wiring is correct??

Original Post

UPDATE-UPDATE!!!!  I just discovered that the FIRST wiring diagram- the one for the older Tubular operating track DOES work correctly for the FasTrack Operating Tracks but with two quirks:

1. Pressing Aux1 OR Aux 2 on the Legacy CAB2 remote BOTH trigger the  accessory rails, but it does NOT simultaneously trigger the electromagnet (decoupler) as I previously THOUGHT.

2. Pressing Aux 1 DOES uncouple only when the car's coupler is over the electromagnet obviously, which is correct, but does NOT simultaneously trigger the accessory rails.

3. The above two scenarios are true as long as I also attach the common lead of the operating track external power supply (my small 7H20 ) to the OUTER RAILS.  (as I mentioned before, the operating uncoupling track is standalone for test purposes, and not hooked into my layout tracks for now)

4. And, finally, this is with cutting off the coil wire of the FasTrack Operating Track, and attaching it to terminal 2 of the OTC.

So, to summarize:

OTC #1 goes to Common of  Operating Track External Power supply,  one of the operating accessory rails, and OUTER Rail

OTC#2 goes to Coil Wire

OTC#3 goes to Positive 12 volts of the External Operating Track Power Supply

OTC#4 goes to the other operating accessory rail

I apologize for any confusion. I am STILL confused why the older tubular operating track operates slightly different from the newer FasTrack???  (not having to cut the coil wire on the older tubular)

All I know is that this scenario does work  for the FasTrack Operating Track if you don't mind the Legacy CAB2 Aux1, Aux2 button confusion.

I'm still open to any suggestions or improvements.

For convenience, here is the wiring I used again:
