Overhang of 400e and 408?

Dreyfuss, assuming you are asking about 42" diam. standard gauge curves, the answer is, not much.  It's not something one would have reason to measure.  There is also enough variation in individual installations that basing setbacks on someone else's experience might lead to disappointment in your application. YMMV.  If you are asking about clearances, you might investigate this thread about spacing between tracks, which is the critical question.  There are also other threads discussing this, search the tinplate forum for "track spacing".

Thanks David. My concern is track that's close to a wall,  and what I completely forgot about was my State cars.... never mind the locos. But in that, I have my practical answer and will test it tomorrow...  I believe they have the largest overhang of all. Thanks for the link to the informative thread.
