I have just added a 2nd locomotive to my collection. When I start each locomotive, I turn the sound down or off for quiet operation. When I select my lash-up, the sound in both locomotives switches to LOUD… Is this normal or could I have something wrong in my set-up? I ordered The DCS O gauge Companion, but haven't received it yet.

One of the updates with the newest version of DCS coming out fixes lash-up settings. If you turn them down, and then select to retain the lower setting, it should stick. I haven't loaded the new version into my DCS to try it myself yet. I did download the update to my computer.

then upload it into your DCS system.
It's normal. Lashups have their own initial settings.
pick an engine in your lashup>go to menu>sound>eng volume adjust to zero. now when you hit eng sounds the other engine with engine volume will mute and you should get total silence. this works on my Rev l multi units.
