Paint Creek Railroad DCS/Conventional

maybe now my track plan is attached

I did find this which I like because then my son can use the handles if necessary instead of the remote but I'm still not sure if it's preferred to use Fixed or Variable.

Does anyone use this setup?

Passive mode is way easier and then all you are unplugging is the DCS signal. You only have to put a switch in the red wire to the TIU channel to open the circuit and not have DCS signal.

@Vernon Barry, thank you for the response but I do not understand it.  Going from the Z4000 to the outputs?  I thought the Z4000 goes to the TIU inputs.
