I have been thinking about this for awhile and now that we’re going headlong into constructing limited production buildings, I though it was time to experiment with painted building signage. We have used the technique previously in highly detailed presentation artchitectural models- using the laser cutter to lightly score the masking of individual bricks to be able to paint a contrasting individual brick color. Nerve wracking and real cool when it is done.

So here’s our first crack as painted building signage, in this case on a piece of the back elevation of the Cameron Apartments building. What do you think and would you want painted building signage on your building?

That looks good.  I did something similar with my barn.

I masked with painters tape and sprayed on a square of white and a square of yellow.

Then I purchased stick on letters from Michaels.  With a 50% off coupon of course.

Then I painted Black over the top.  The next day I removed the stickers and weathered.

Easy and cheap.

Ron- Great looking barn! Modelers have purchased our letter sets that have the adhesive transfer tape on the back to do what you did on the barn. They paint the letter color, stick the letters on and paint the backing color, and then pluck off the letters.

Angelo- Adds another level of no two will look alike.

All- if you have a painted building sign that would look good on a brick building wall, email us a straight-on elevation picture. We'll look at it for future consideration.
