I have been using acrylic paint on models for a little while and usually with good success, but I am doing some scratch built cars out of polystyrene and having a problem with adhesion. When I have tried to mask an area and paint another color when I remove the masking some of the paint with the primer lifts off. How long should the primer and or the paint cure before applying the next coat? All paints including the primer are acrylic."Any Help"?

Honestly I would try another primer. You will need one that will etch the plastic. I painted all of my tinplate with acrylic paints. I never ever used acrylic primers.

I believe there is/was a plastic prep. solution that can be used pre- primer.

Makes Plastic Static and Dust Free.
