I have a space at the foot of the **** Gate Bridge for a park. Originally I thought of having a carnival there, but carnival and circus items are very expensive. So Plan B is to have a park with a playground, and a steam locomotive on display. Forget about the steam effects.

Has anyone done this?

I had done it once, after being inspired from a ride around Horseshoe Curve.  I'm sure it can be done on a much more elaborate scale, but all I really did was take enough straight track to hold the locomotive and use Plasticville or another brand of white picket fence to go around it.

That's the simplest way to go, and I'm sure others have done much more for a park loco.

I have a Rail King Bantam N&J that will go into the park until I can get a more conventional steamer for the park. I think the park steamer will be on a section of track so the drivers are a few thousands of an inch off the rails enabling the drivers to turn. A momentary push-button switch will put power to the park engine.
