Rick,
I'll try to get some photos tomorrow for you.
For all: I'm extremely sorry the thread has taken this turn. All layouts are different and have their own unique beauty, please enjoy them for what they are and appreciate the time and effort invested in creating them. Just look at the wonderful pictures each week in Weekend Photo Fun! It doesn't matter if it is bare table top 0-27 on a 4' x 8' to highly detailed 0 scale monsters such as Ed Rappe's. I'm sorta at a loss for words...
Not a bad turn just a bad post.
Pete has a stunning layout. As far as anyone who has their layout published, that is a real feat and the highest compliment that can be paid to a layout.
Pete...I have always been in AWE of your layout. It is simply beautiful....thanks so much for the pictures you have been posting lately within several threads....I keep looking for them!!

Pete, you are a credit to the hobby.
Thank you for sharing your model railroad.
It is an inspiration to us all.

Agreed Pennsy. Pete your layout should be one that Rich Melvin and the OGR crew film as it would make a great blu-ray DVD movie.
Hey, this is a really nice layout, with broad curves, fine landscaping and a look of fine carpentry. The Roundhouse looks to be a Korber Kit??? It would be Great to see more Pictures and more details about Pete's Railroad. This probably is many years of hard work and dedication to Our Hobby. Thanks for the one picture.
Thanks everyone for your kind and generous comments.
The peninsula uses an over-under double track mainline approach with a min radius of 36" (0-72) on the inner tracks. The lower level inner loop is used primarily to store two hidden trains, occasionally as a passing siding. The lower level is illuminated with rope lighting; today I would use strip LEDs.
The seven stall modified Korber roundhouse has one end stall shortened by 3". Also, the width of the door walls was shortened so the roundhouse sits closer to the Bowser 30" turntable. Note the amusement park on the lower level.
The lower level from the entrance to the layout:
As I was building the layout, we were blessed with three Grand Children, so I added this amusement park at their viewing level. I don't know why the walls behind the amusement park are pink in the photos. They are painted a sky blue.

Another overview of the peninsula:
Pete, the last photo in your sequence of the child pointing is precious. Is he your grandson?
Pete,
Many Thanks for the photo's.......
Rick.
Absolutely stunning layout.

My parents often told me, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Mixerman, you should heed that advice.
Your boorish comment is certainly an unwarranted slap in the face to the fine people who were featured in our last issue.
In the future, do us all a favor and keep comments like this to yourself.
Very nice, you must have spent some time planing that out and it shows. It has given me some ideas on the one I am planning.

I'll have to slap myself in the face for being late to the party, in not having been aware of this very nice layout. Not only is it visually appealing, but it has good play value and the little folks can see trains while standing on the floor.
Very nice design and execution, and very neat construction. Your personal record is awarded ten merits.
wbg pete: nice layout! I especially like how the lower level is just the right height for the little guys. Thanks for the pics, I look forward to more. -Ken
I'm with Number 90 how have I missed this lay-out in the past, excellent all the way around!! Lets see more!!!!
