PASSING OF ROY YOST AKA RADIO ROY

It's with a heavy heart that I have to inform you of the lost of a great member and modeler, Roy Yost of Redwood City CA. Roy passed away on Tuesday morning June 20. Roy was a member of the Golden Gate Lionel RR Club and the Golden State Toy Operators Club.

Roy was a good friend that helped me when I got over my head in electronics and I helped him when he needed some custom painting done. Together, we built a strong bond. We frequently met outside of our club with fellow modeler Ken Shirey and Jon Z and talked about everything under the sun. Especially reminiscing about our days at ERR/Lionel.

Roy will be missed by all of us that knew him. Roy was easy going and a pleasure to be with, and I never heard him say anything bad about anyone.

His other hobbies included rebuilding and repairing car radios and working on old Studebaker cars.

Keep him in your thoughts.

WOW, that's a sad report. My condolences to his family and many friends. As you say, Roy will be missed All my interactions with him were very pleasant, a good guy!

I forgot to mention that one of his other passions was singing in a Barbershop Quartet, "Sound Judgement" located in the Bay Area. Here is a photo from their web site of Roy.

Very sorry to learn of Roy's passing. A very pleasant, helpful model railroad man.

Roy was involved in the "Westie" York group (from California) years ago. We traveled several times together by car visiting PA train hot spots. Condolences to his family and close friends.

My condolences to his family. I sold a Lionel Northern Pacific passenger set to Roy back in the mid 90’s when I sold off all my 027 trains to start collecting the new scale stuff that was coming out.
Also, Roy was the contact person for ERR back then. Good guy who will be missed.

I got to know Roy a bit after selling him a book. He was an incredibly nice, not to mention talented, guy. I knew of his work repairing radios but had no idea about his involvement with ERR. Talk about a man of many talents.
