I have read that Marx was selling 300,000 sets a year in its peak period, which I would assume was during

the late 1940's/early 1950's.  This same period may have been the peak years for Lionel and American Flyer.

These numbers now would be secret, and maybe were then, and I have not seen a sales volume comparison.

Are those dates and numbers known?  (I am just thinking of boxed trains sets.....Lionel Scout, and up,

Flyer Atlantic sets and up (two neighbor kids, cousins, each got one of those Atlantic sets), Marx boxed sets (I'd like a breakout of just the electric sets, for if we include windups, Hafner might have to be added).  Were

those numbers preserved?
