Being involved with horses for many years, I would also like to see the interior pics.

Did anyone ever find any photos of the inside of these cars?
That is wonderful thank you
Erik, Another web site mentions the full width end doors facilitated loading/unloading the owner's automobile(s). A neat diorama could show a race horse or two coming out the side doors via a ramp and a 1937 Packard with a covered spare tire in each front fender coming out the end of the car. When my wife was alive (the consummate horse crazed person) (watch a 120 pound, 5'4" woman put a 1500 pound horse over a 4 or 5' fence) we saw photos of these horse cars. About the only part of model trains she liked.

John in Lansing,
I will make an effort to do something like this.
Fun cars!

Typically Horse Express cars ran with passenger trains. The ALCo PA in Erik's reference photo would confirm that for the ATSF. The PRRT&HS did an excellent set of articles in the Keystone regarding the Mid-Atlantic racetrack circuit and PRR horse express cars. I have an old HO Walthers kit built horse express car, but nothing like a Pecos River Brass version. Beautiful car.

Thanks Jonathan. I didn’t catch Eriks pic - if model or photo. I’ll believe photo - model pic is always just a modelers preference to me.
I wasn’t aware of the PRB model - only the nice 3rd Rail brass model (which I have).
Cheers
In the day the LIRR ran trains of just horse cars to the tracks and also passenger extras on race days. I'm assuming picked up from the PRR to be delivered.
