I have come across an almost new 1225 marked Pere Marquette in the styrofoam packing. My question is the value of this item. I've looked in the latest Kalmbach pricing guide and can't find this engine and tender marked 1225. I know the Polar Express held that same number but I don't think this is a Polar Express unit. Can any clarify what I'm looking at and what the value would be. The condition is great and it's a very heavy unit, both the tender and the engine.

I guess the way he stated in the "styrofoam packing" I made the assumption there was no box.
I couldn't post a picture, however, I did find some information in the box. It has the number 6-11146 and I found the value in the Greenberg's Pricing book. Thanks for the responses.
That was the first run of the Pere Marquette scale Berkshire in Legacy. From 2008 time frame. No smoking whistle on this engine. Great sounds though! For value, it's worth what someone will pay for it but Greenberg's or Ebay is somewhere to start for a value.
Are you just not familiar with the locomotive?
Actual sale price on eBay on 09/03 was $910. IMHO, there's the true value.
I have this loco and the PE tender to go with it. I love it and use it to pull my scale PE. bought the whole set from a forum member for $1500 so I paid prolly $750 for it and felt I got a great deal
The scale PE Berks are highly sought after but for me this is better since I get a PM Berk for excursions on the layout and a PE Berk to run my Polar Express
Condsidering I work on the actual PM 1225 I'd love to have the legacy version but alas the funds of a college student are quite dry.
