I see that you also use Mianne Benchwork. How do you like it?
Bob, I like it. It is so easy to put together, especially for a guy like me whose carpentry skills have deteriorated over recent years due to various non-threatening health issues. I used it for my two short peninsulas (that's what you see in the photograph) that will be connected with a lift up or out bridge and against the brick wall. I saved money by bolting metal angles to each stud on the other two walls and put in simple shelves. The one thing I noticed about Mianne is if it is free standing, it stays very sturdy, but I can make the whole unit wobble without layout weight on it. However, when tied in around a room, it it doesn't wobble. I bought one of his kits, and then a second order for the extra parts I needed to adapt it the way I did. They have a motorized lift bridge that you can duck under, but for me the cost wasn't justified.
To keep on topic:
More Mianne
Mark,
Here is my duck under. Two 213s and a 313, plus a $18 rolling stool from Harbor Freight.
I also had some wobble but I think it was caused by reusing my bench work and asking Tim to fill in what I needed. I should have gone with a new design and then bought additional product. Here’s how my resident carpenter fixed it.
