I'm sitting here watching two of my Lionel trains going around the track and realizing that of all the loops around the Christmas tree this year, probably the ones that I customized a bit lead the way.

I had to run out to take a few pics. I'm not in the same universe as Pat, Norton, Bruk or Norm, but I have an affliction for wanting good looking headlights. Other things could be wrong but if the headlight is off, I'm bothered for some reason.
The Hudson. Love the looks of the Hudson. I bought one of the special J3 runs that Lionel did. I do not like Lionel's modern Hudson headlight. I'd rather see the postwar version than what they put on the Vision J1e and this J3. Again, my opinion, but I find it boxy looking with no personality.
I bought a headlight and platform from PSC and removed the stock one. I ran the wires through the platform so I wouldn't have a hole in the boiler. It took me a long time and I never want to do it again. I need to paint the red wire black. Still haven't gotten to that yet.
I then took a photo of the cab number and made a cheap number boards for it. Thanks for the tip @Norton (Pete). Now if I could fix the 5 chuffs per revolution!?
