Pine Creek Dave

Mike, I was thinking of Dave the other day.  I did an advanced member search and see his last activity here was June 22nd, but his last visit was August 24th.  It does seem strange he hasn’t commented in over 2 months.  He lives a little over an hour drive from me, and I have met him in person twice.  Maybe he will see his name and report in!

I think he said he goes into the mountains to work with his dogs.  Seems I recall he does disappear for a time over the summer.

I believe he has a business up in Potter County, PA training hunting dogs for other people in the summer.   He may not have internet access up there.

I'm sure he will be back. Trains end up being a seasonal activity for the indoors over winter.

I was digging around the forum for some info and noticed that Dave hasn't signed in almost 2 years,  has anyone heard from him lately?

I have not heard from Dave at all.  He used to live east of Pittsburgh and spend a lot of time in north central Pennsylvania in warm weather.  I met him in person a couple times, but that has been a number of years ago.

I sent him an email a while back but didn't get a reply. We never actually met, but he and I spent several hours on the phone troubleshooting some new switches I had bought, and he was very helpful. Nice guy.....I hope he is OK.

Several years ago Dave and I would post quite often. At the time I had rebuilt two older ZW transformers for him, converting them to diode and updated circuit breakers. he often posted to our site how happy he was with the work I had done, and his recommendations resulted in several jobs for me. Although I never met him in person, we communicated quite often. I know that he was a personal friend of Ronald Reagan, as was I and I think his dad was one of Ronald Reagan’s chief security guards in the Secret Service.

Dave did mention to me that he had off and on health problems which he attributed to his exposure to agent orange when he was in the service, I think the Marines. I haven’t heard from Dave in about two years. What a nice person he was, and if he’s no longer with us, God bless him. Jim Lawson.

Spent a few minutes doing some internet searching lol, seems Dave is still with us happily, maybe spending more time with the hunting dog training etc.  Found several posts from him in other forums as recent as Dec 28, 2022. I suspect he could probably be contact by anyone desiring to touch base as well. In several of his posts he did relate to having had open heart surgery a few years back so may be limiting his activity or highlighting those things he loves most, likely the outdoors etc.
