This morning's passing of Andy Griffith made me think about putting a "Mayberry" station on my layout at some point. How many of you have (or plan to have) a place name or scene from a TV show or movie on your layout? Which one(s)? Pictures welcome.

At least two that come to mind. "Ward's" hunting and fishing shop is named after Beaver's dad, Ward Cleaver.
Walking up the main drag near the gas station is "Opie Cunningham", named after Ron Howard's characters from The Andy Griffith Show and Happy Days.

Hey Jumijo,
How are your Williams engines doing?
My Williams engines are doing very well and I expanded my Williams fleet, even added some more passenger cars by Williams.

Sam Drucker's General Store (Petticoat Junction, Green Acres)
Plus, it seems the mighty Mach 5 had to make a pit stop on the Great Plywood Glacier:

All cool! I've always wanted a "Willoughby" hearse on my layout. Someday...
I made my MTH Smith Brothers Motors into a Tucker dealership.

This is the only TV-inspired location on my layout. The yellow building is modeled after the restaurant in the British detective series, Pie in the Sky, one of my wife's and my favorite shows: the outside of the restaurant is not that accurately modeled (the building in the show is on a slope and has an alley on its left side, there are no sidewalk tables), but the interior of the restaurant is exact down to the tables, bar, doors to the kitchen, and stairs to the upstairs apartment where Detective Inspector Crabbe lives. The restaurant's sign is exact, too, just cut out of the cover of Season Four's DVD.
I'd like to do some more British-mystery themed scenes: something from Midsomer Murders if I could find a place, maybe Inspector Barnaby's home. In fact, this has given me a great idea, an inspired idea - I'm going to do a street with Barnaby's house, Inspector Morse's, Inspector Lewis's, Inspector's Frost's, Inspector Foyle's and Judge Deed's townhouses, and ending with . . . 221B Baker street. What a cool idea - and I can think of just the place for it on my layout. Fantastic!

My in-progress oil facility will be named Ewing Oil and my in-progress lumber mill/yard is to be named Walton & Son for of course The Waltons. All I have to do know is to finish the scenes.
I always wanted a facility called "Montgomery Scott Engineering Services" or a medical office for "Leonard McCoy, MD"
How about Dr Henry Frankenstein MD Plastic Surgeon or Dr Henry Jekyll MD and the office can be in the Edward Hyde professional building.
I have been working on a Hooterville station. I need to find an appropriate truck for Mr Haney; anyone have an idea where to find one?
Steve A.
The grouping of what appear to be inexpensive trees on the right side of this photo looks terrific. As stand-alones, they aren't very realistic, but grouped together like that, quite nice.
Thanks. They're off-the-shelf Woodlands Scenics trees.
One of these days the rest of the scenery will catch up with them.

I have seen a scene from Petticoat Junction that was more or less complete and not just versions of the water tank. Anyone have something like that who would care to post pictures?
How about a "Jellystone Park"?

"Howard's Super Service" no less! Very clever!
Shouldn't there be three guys working on a car though?

Yes, but the boys do wander off now and then...
